There is no news that the flat trend has taken the web world by storm, coming in and becoming extremely popular in a matter of very few years. A couple of years ago people were talking about Metro UI and Microsoft’s strategy and few considered it successful. But moving Metro UI to the web and naming it flat design has been a good move, and we can see the results now, when lots and lots of companies decide to rebrand their websites, as well as brand identities, all after the flat style.
Today we take a look at some free flat user interface kits that will boost your creativity and help you achieve better results quicker.
Flat UI Kits
Flat UI
One of the first flat kits that appeared on the web is this one, from Designmodo. Its simplicity, yet very sleek design impressed many viewers and therefore this pack has been downloaded lots of times. People can often notice flat elements from Designmodo used all over the web and this is mostly thanks to the originality (remember, this was one of the first flat kits on the web) and also quality.
You will be able to find in this pack lots of buttons, icons, glyphs, color swatches as well as typography examples. This is all for free. However, if you are one of the ones who wants to go pro, Designmodo has the right pack for you too.
Modern Touch Kit
Another kit that is simple, yet impressive and looking cool is this one. It looks modern and comes with designs for calendars, weather widgets, menus, dropdowns and image previewing.
Square UI
Square UI is PSD User Interface Pack including a set of beautiful and pure components, which you can use to create startup projects, websites or iOS apps.
Flat UI Kit
This kit designed by Freepik was created for WebDesigner Depot and is another amazing piece of work. This pack is also quite complex, containing many elements, including social media buttons, map and location showcasing, a weather widget, a pricing table and many others. The kit comes for free, you would only need to sign-up to WDD’s newsletter and the download link will be sent to you.
Flat Ui Kit
This one is pretty standard, but it doesn’t mean it is not worth taking a look at. It doesn’t come with many elements, but the ones that are in the package can be used as the start of all kinds of projects. I have to say that I, myself, have been using some of the ideas from here.
Flat UI Kit
This is another package which is quite standard, but which comes with great designs. I am especially in love with the “tasks completed” graph, which I can’t get enough of. The graph is also very good looking and I also believe the typography is good.
Flat Design UI Components
The sixth pack in today’s showcase comes from Romania and is in a more Windows-like style, which is always something we can use for our projects.
It has all kinds of graphs, progress bars, calendar, weather widget, latest tweets widget as well as coming with all kinds of exciting colors to use for all these widgets and buttons. Oh, and an Anne Hathaway picture…
Featherweight UI
This pack is definitely one of the most amazing ones. The attention to detail when creating these beautiful forms is incredible. And all this comes free of charge. All elements are vector based and retina ready, as well as totally customizable. The pack uses Lato as its main font (which is generally considered a typeface good to use in combination with flat designs).
Responsive UI Kit
Although it is called responsive, this doesn’t really come as responsive. However, all these elements from the package can be used in responsive designs, as they work really well in different sizes. The color is quite unique for flat packs (never seen anybody use it before) and I think this package can also become one of the most successful ones.
Flat UI Buttons
This is a package containing only a few buttons, but I have decided to show it here because I often find myself in need of buttons and I always use a lot of time finding the right ones. I believe these buttons look quite good and fit all kinds of designs.
Vertical Infinity
This is another great free package and I have to confess that I used some of its elements before as well, because I think the pack is high quality and worth taking a look at. It comes with all kinds of elements and I have been crazy for that menu bar for a long time now.
Polaris UI
If you want to go Microsoft style, Polaris is another great package with all kinds of elements fit for web design. You can find in this kit some buttons, widgets, icons and a video preview widget.
Free Flat UI Kit
This pack comes right from Bēhance and it is really another great kit. You can find all kinds of elements, as this is quite a complex flat package. If you download this free PSD, you will be able to make use of everything from buttons, forms, dropdowns, search bars, social media button, profile widgets and many others.
Almost Flat UI
This next example contains all kinds of elements as well, from progress bars to a bunchload of buttons and typography examples. Something that I didn’t see in other kits that this one comes with are “invalid entry” and “valid entry” forms, which can come in quite handy from time to time.
Flatby UI
In this last example you will be able to find some of the elements that can be found in previous examples, but this doesn’t mean the work is not original or high quality. The package is obviously free to download and the elements in it are free to use for all kinds of projects. Don’t forget to give credit!
With Flatby we end today’s showcase hoping that now you have enough resources to finally get you started on that project that you have been looming around for a long time. As always, we would love to hear your opinion about the examples above and, if you have others, don’t hesitate to write to us.
