Free Flat Social Media Icons Sets

Whenever I take onto a new project and start creating wireframes and prototypes, I found myself needing some good flat social media icons. Although they are quite easy to find, it is much easier if you are able to just bookmark an article and know that you will always be able to find them there. This is the purpose of today’s showcase.

Today we don’t just take a look at free social media icons, but at social media icons designed following the flat trend. All these icons are modern and relatively new, while also being original and beautiful.

Flat Social Media Icons

The first set we look at today is this great pack from Designmodo, the pioneer of flat packs on the web. You will find here all kinds of icons, from the most popular ones, to some that you might not need, but that are quite difficult to find when you do need them.

Publicons

Although not many social networks are represented in this pack, Blogger, WordPress and Drupal are some of them, and designers always need icons for these management systems.

Flat Social Media Icons

This is another great freebie showing ten flat designed social media icons, including Bēhance, Pinterest, Google+ and Dribbble.

Flat Icons

Another pack containing many flat icons is this one, and you will find some great icons such as for Amazon, eBay and deviantART – and there are not many flat icons of those on the internet yet; and especially not for free.

Geekly

This package comes with 25 flat designed icons on round backgrounds. They all look very good and seem like the kind of icons that you will be able to use in lots of designs, as they fit every style you could imagine of because their simplicity.

40 Social Media Icons

In this pack you will find 40 social media icons designed with the flat trend and the long shadow concept. The icons come in four different sizes, as well as they are constructed to be pixel perfect. The set comes in PSD, not only in PNG, so you will also be able to modify them a bit easier.

PSD flat icons

If you want your icons in PSD, this is another package that brings you that. You will find 16 different icons in this package and they all follow the trend of long shadows, only this time at a 30 degrees radius. The icons and their shapes can be edited in this package too and while I believe these icons are very good, the option is always there in case you need it.

CSS icons

This is something new and something that not many people offer. These great icons come in CSS3, so you will be able to customize them by just using CSS3 styling. You will be able to change both the icon background and the color of the icon itself. Great resource!

Flat Social Media Icons

This pack comes with a bit of a surprise. Besides the classic, colored icons, the pack also brings black and white versions of each icon. Facebook, Vine, Yelp, SoundCloud, Foursquare and Dribbble are between some of the icons that can be found in this pack.

Icons

Although the pack is not huge and it doesn’t only include social media icons, you will be able to find some interesting ones here, good looking and very useful, such as Dribbble, Pinterest or Vine.

Hex Icons Pack

This set is another one that doesn’t only include social media icons, but you will be able to find quite some social media icons anyway. Hex icons are not so popular today (have no idea why, they look great), so make sure to grab this set while you still can.

Flat Polygon Icons

We had hex icons before and we continue with some great examples of other ones, still designed with flat, but with some other shades and shadows. There are 15 icons in total, with some of the most popular social media icons included.

Social Media Icons set

The next example comes from Dribbble and includes Google+, Vine, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and others. There is a set of 32 icons coming in .eps format, so you will be able to customize them if you have Adobe Illustrator installed on your computer.

Although not all the icons are free (the pack costs $6), you can grab 20 of these icons for free, so you can at least get a taste of how well they would work for your website if you would buy the whole package.

Circle Flat Icons

Today’s last example is this one, coming with 24 high quality icons in four different sizes and combining two different colors. The icons come in PNG and you can find Google+, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest through 20 other ones.
