Usually, people are better at the end of the year or when special events have happened and help other people or make donations. It is way better than nothing at all, but helping people shouldn’t be a weekly, monthly or yearly activity. It’s written in our nature to help each other and you should follow your heart. Altogether, into such a money-centred world it’s extremely difficult to find the mental and financial resources to help other people.

In spite of the high pragmatism and materialism level of the actual human society, the mankind took a good course and it’s under way for a sustainable better world. Yeah, there are tons of extremely important problems to solve as climate changing, people migration or modern slavery, but people, organisations and countries try to solve these. On the other hand, it is very facile to make these things even better.

A very widespread misconception is that a single individual can’t make too many things for the planet faith. Well, it’s enough not to waste water in your daily activities and it’s a step further. Also, convincing your friends to do the same and from time to time to donate money and goods for poor people is another gain. In conclusion, be fair and accept that the CHANGE may come from you!

2014 Gates Annual Letter

Annually, Bill and Mellisa Gates have written an open letter informing people about the progress of their organisation. I strongly recommend you to check these and read them carefully- here is the base of my optimism regarding the future of the planet. The letter for 2014 was recently released and I was both impressed by its content and design. The layout is simple, lacking any unnecessary sophistication and the user may focus on the content. Personally, I think that this is a mandatory piece of reading for every person, no matter if you are a designer or not!

Into the Arctic

Arctic is still a virgin territory, but the oil deposits from here “attract” the big companies to explore these. Of course, the extraction of oil will negatively influence the Arctic and each individual is indebted to protect this continent. Into the Arctic is a great website that collects signatures to protect this continent. The website provides tons of interesting information in a very attractive manner. I consider that it’s way better to visit it yourself and eventually to sign the petition!

Every Last Drop

Every Last Drop is another wonderful and educative website. For some users, scrolling is annoying but the information provided it’s worth the effort. It’s impossible not to be impressed by the illustrations used and by the scenario. Definitely, the creators have a great imagination.

War Child

The homepage of this website is extremely effective. The colour scheme is based on dark and red, while the typography is white. This solution emphasizes the message- “war destroys children’s life”. Also, the illustration from homepage has a great impact on the memory of the visitor. No doubt, once you visit this website, you won’t forget it too soon.

Soworldwide

So, Worldwide is a good looking website that is created to make people react. The design is clean and effective, purposely to let the images impress the viewer. Seeing children that need help will create a great impact over the viewers and surely they will make some donations. It’s that kind of website that proves that an image speaks more than a thousand words.

Loft City Church

Even if this website is a church related one, it’s a very modern online presence. If you want to see a classic example of flat design, then visit this website. The layout is clean and the navigation is very pleasant so in conclusion, it’s a good work.

The Kyoto Protocol Petition

Support Kyoto is another website that motivates people to take care of the environment. It’s a story that will make you scroll in order to find out relevant information. Here it is applied the same principle as for Every Last Drop, that was previously presented. Of course, the website is awesome, especially the illustrations and the scrolling effects.

Indigy

Indigy is a wonderful website and its purpose is to present the actual state of the tribes. I was fascinated by the simplicity of the website- it has the exact amount of information that people require. Also, the colour combination is very smartly chosen; brown, the colour of the Earth being the most used.

AlterED

This website is my favourite from this honouring list. I appreciate the quality of the illustrations very much – these are the work of a great designer. The layout seems to irradiate joy and the users will want to become part of this community. Altered is a one single page website based on flat design. It is very cool, isn’t it?

We Heart Trees

We Heart Trees is a very creative crafted online presence. The chance of a non-profit website is to engage with the visitors, or else everything is in vain. The website creators managed to generate a great combination of engagement with information delivering. I think that is way easier to understand my idea by creating your own tree. It won’t take more than a minute!

Tiger Awareness

The tiger is the symbol of power, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise the fact that in few years, the tiger will became just a pale remembering. The team behind Tiger Awareness wants to make us understand that there is a harsh fight to keep them alive. I wish them good luck and I hope that inserting their website here is a step ahead. Please visit the website because it’s really wonderful and you may get inspired from it!

Chicoco Radio

This website presents a very sad and terrifying story. The modern and somehow positive aspect of the website is in opposition with the story presented. I think that the modern design approach is more than a simple choice- it’s a symbol that the society will evolve no matter how difficult it will be!

Aviro Health

Aviro is a website showcasing an app for medics. The design is simple, based on black and white, emphasising the written content. The fonts used are very readable; therefore the perfect context for reading is created. What do you think? Is it a cool design?

Break It Down

Wasting food is a very delicate problem, but people are very reticent and they find it hard to give up their bad habits. Break It Down is a website dedicated to make people aware of food waste and it fully manages to captivate the users due to the wonderful design. Great job, isn’t it?

Iraq – 10 years, 100 viewpoints

The same as Chicoco.fm, this website offers a very modern approach when presenting a violent episode from the past. The most interesting aspect of Irak Arte is the use of videos, while the single negative remark is the auto player. Anyway, this is definitely a must see website!

Eye Am

This is a simple website, based on an orange and white colour combination, while the images are the attention grabbing. Another plus is constituted by the boldness of the buttons or other UI items.

Running for Cause

Certainly, this website stands apart due to the cool sliding effects and to the modern approach. Also, the layout has inserted some original items as the social media buttons and overall the website “convinced” me to add it here.

Hospital For Hope

Hospital for Hope is a stunning creation and a good example of inspired combination of aesthetics and bold messages. The single downside is the “Donate” button position; lots of people will mistake it for “Home”. In this way, some users will consider that this website is a spam, isn’t it?

Inspirational Quotes

This website isn’t a ”classy” charity or non-profit one. Instead, it is a place where people could get inspiration from, for free by reading quotes of great minds! Not only the quotes are refuelling the inspiration level, but the website design is also wonderful, mostly due to the impressive images used.
