In the past couple of months, we have showed you lots and lots of flat resources, but if we still miss something, that is definitely creating a showcase with flat glyphs icons.
So hopefully today’s article is something that you will enjoy a lot.
Free Flat Glyph Icons for Beautiful Websites and Apps
Linecons
We start today with some of our favorite resources, the flat design icons from Designmodo. In the complex kit you can find 48 different, flat glyphs that can be used for all purposes for free, like all the other resources in the set.
Geomicons
This second example comes from Dribbble and has been viewed more than 30.000 times, as a sign for its popularity. The set comes in Illustrator format and you can download and even customize them all after your needs.
44 icons
This example comes also from Dribbble and also in a customizable format, only this time in Photoshop format. The pack comes with 44 different glyphs designed with the flat trend. These icons are really good and can be used for all kinds of interfaces.
Scalable icons
Next comes another pack with lots of icons, this time 80 of them. The icons are scalable, so you can basically have them in any format and size you need. The files come in PSD, CSH and PNG files and are free to use for both commercial and personal projects.
MimiGlyphs
If you are out looking for some glyphs in a 12×12 px size, you found the winner. This pack comes with exactly 96 icons in PSD format; unfortunately all these icons are already shaped, so you will not be able to customize them in Photoshop.
Free icon set
Some icons in this pack area actually quite lovely and I particularly like the two from the bottom left. The pack comes for free in PSD and AI formats and I suppose the icons can be used for all your purposes.
Pika icons
Although this is not entirely flat style, but Pika, it still looks kind of similar to flat. This pack comes with 42 icons that can be downloaded for free in PNG and Adobe Illustrator format. The glyphs come in two sizes, 60×60 px and 30×30 px.
50 flat glyphs
This pack comes with some other great glyphs at high quality, designed by a talented Russian designer on Dribbble. Luckily, this is another set of glyphs you can use for free, but the author would appreciate you linking back to him, and I think this is something that you should do.
Budicon
Another quite recent pack is this one, named budicon, which comes with lots of icons in different formats. The author is looking to make this a pack of more than 800 icons, so it might be worth watching the project as it becomes updated.
Flaticons
Although called Flaticons, these examples are actually glyphs, and some amazing ones actually. Unfortunately the icons don’t come for free, but you can buy different packs for different small fees.
Flat glyphs
This set comes with lots of glyphs and some of them are really cool, like the one for Google Drive, Dropbox, Share button, Calendar and Messages glyph. Notice that the glyphs come in two versions, flat and normal.
Glyphico
Glyphico also comes with lots of flat icons that you can use for your own purposes. In this pack you will be able to find different unique icons, such as for Picassa, battery level, different arrows and combination of arrows and some social media glyphs.
Although we usually stop at 15, it was quite difficult for us to find many more glyphs designed with flat. It might be simply because the flat trend is quite new, or because people believe glyphs are not useful enough (although I would disagree), but I would also encourage you to go out there and design your own glyphs.
Hoping that you would do this, we would really love to hear from you regarding your further work, as well as what you believe of today’s showcase. Are you going to use some of these glyphs, or they don’t match your requirements and needs?
